Great to see you back!

Multicam Editing

TUTORIAL DESCRIPTION

In this tutorial we will show you how to combine different camera inputs smoothly and professionally to improve your coverage of live events.

Live events often get vision mixed as they’re happening, but have you ever filmed an event from multiple angles and not had the technology available to mix them there and then? Using the multiclip functions inside Final Cut Pro, different takes or camera footage can be synchronised and edited as if it were live!

This technique can be used for a variety of different live events, and can even be used to mix the live performance parts of music videos (as long as the music video is to a click track or mimed to the original track, as the tempo will have to be consistent). This means you can film a music video performance numerous times using the same camera, but from different angles, so that when you get into the edit suite, you edit as if you had a multi-camera set up!
